9-11 and- the role of Norris Arm
The Tragedy that changed both the Passengers and the community
Following the events of September 11th, 2001 Norris Arm supported the welcoming of stranded passengers from Delta Airlines DL49. 152 passengers resided within the school supported by staff and the local community.
The Norris Arm Heritage & Arts Centre's contains an archive of photos, articles and thank you cards to keep the memory of those events alive.

From school memorabilia to essential items, many items with uses that may not be recognizable when considered along side todays technological advancements and societal norms.

From the Newfoundland Regiment at Beaumont Hamel to the Deserts of Africa soliders from Norris Arm answered the call. Our exhibit shares their story and the impact that was felt at home.
5000 years of history
step back in time to the time of the Paleo-Eskimo Era
From the archeological dig at Rattling brook came evidence of precolonial settlement. The area has a history of excellent game hunting, freshwater and materials required for survival, it's no wonder people have made this area thier home for over 5000 years.
